This programme is designed for students starting Year 3 in September 2026. It supports children preparing for competitive 8+ assessments, as well as pupils who would benefit from a stimulating academic extension programme.
The 8+ Club helps pupils work beyond standard classroom expectations, strengthen mature reasoning skills and build confidence with advanced academic material.

The 8+ Club is designed to support both pupils preparing for competitive 8+ entry and children who have already secured a 7+ place but want to stay academically sharp.
For 8+ Exam Candidates
Focused preparation for pupils sitting competitive 8+ assessments, with emphasis on advanced English, maths, reasoning, timed technique and mature problem-solving.
For Successful 7+ Pass Holders
An academic extension pathway for children who have secured a 7+ place and want to remain stretched, confident and ready for the expectations of their next school.

The 8+ Club focuses on higher-level academic, reasoning and timed exam skills, helping pupils approach challenging material with structure and confidence.
Advanced English & Verbal Reasoning
Complex reading comprehension, sophisticated creative composition, verbal reasoning and dictation.
Advanced Maths & Non-Verbal Reasoning
Mental arithmetic, multi-step written calculations, advanced word problems and abstract reasoning.
Timed Exam Technique
Accuracy, pace, question strategy and calm performance under time pressure.
Academic Extension
A stimulating environment designed to stretch pupils beyond standard classroom expectations.

The 8+ stage requires maturity, confidence and the ability to approach unfamiliar problems calmly. Our workshops combine rigorous academic challenge with a nurturing environment, helping children feel stretched but supported.

Monday 19th October- Friday 23rd October
Suitable for: students in Year 3
Time: 9:15am-1:15pm
Location: St John’s Church, 152 Lansdowne Crescent, London W11 2NN.
The 8+ exam prep workshop will consist of 2 hours of English and Verbal Reasoning and 2 hours of Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning daily. There will be two small breaks and one longer break halfway through the day.
The Maths Club sessions will include mental arithmetic, written calculation questions, and problem-solving. Using questions from previous examinations, we will ensure the students are equipped to solve problems in a systematic and coherent way.
The English Club sessions will consist of comprehension, composition, verbal reasoning, and dictation and are tailored to cover and emulate the most up-to-date content in the examinations.
