This programme is designed for children starting Year 2 in September 2026. It is ideal for pupils preparing for competitive 7+ assessments who need more advanced, targeted practice across the key academic and reasoning areas.
The course helps children strengthen accuracy, pace, exam technique and confidence while continuing to learn in a supportive, structured and encouraging environment.

Next Steps to 7+ focuses on the higher-level academic, reasoning and exam skills children need as they approach their 7+ assessments.
Advanced English & Verbal Reasoning
Reading comprehension, inference, vocabulary, creative composition and verbal reasoning puzzles.
Advanced Maths & Non-Verbal Reasoning
Multi-step calculations, challenging word problems, mathematical reasoning and non-verbal pattern recognition.
Exam Technique
Timed practice, question strategy, accuracy, concentration and calm problem-solving.

Location: St John’s Church, 152 Lansdowne Crescent, London W11 2NN
Time: After school: 3:45pm – 4:45pm
Our ten-week term-time course offers a highly structured yet encouraging curriculum ready for students who are in Year 2 and ready for their 7+ exams. We will be covering content needed before each exam as the term progresses. Each weekly session alternates between two core disciplines to keep young minds engaged:
English & Verbal Reasoning.
Maths & Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Location: St John’s Church, 152 Lansdowne Crescent, London W11 2NN.
This five-day 7+ exam preparation workshop is suitable for students starting Year 2 in September 2026.
The 7+ exam preparation workshop will consist of 2 hours of English and Verbal Reasoning and 2 hours of Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning daily. There will be two small breaks and one longer break halfway through the day.
The English Club sessions will consist of comprehension, composition, verbal reasoning, and dictation and are tailored to cover and emulate the most up-to-date content in the examinations.
The Maths Club sessions will include mental arithmetic, written calculation questions, and problem-solving. Using questions from previous examinations, we will ensure the students are equipped to solve problems in a systematic and coherent way.

Keeping momentum between sessions
To maintain steady progress, children may receive targeted tasks or homework between sessions. Specific goals and feedback can be provided to help parents understand their child’s development and confidence as assessments approach.
